The Financial Planning and Analysis Senior Manager will play an integral role in supporting delivery  of the Bank’s strategy. The role holder will work closely with the business to embed strategic levers into annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, articulating the key messages to the Board and Executive team.

You will become a trusted advisor to the business using strong analytical and interpersonal skills to provide relevant and insightful analysis, adding value and assisting in decision making.

 

Essential Experience:

  • Qualified Accountant – ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent qualification
  • Previous experience in business partnering roles
  • Previous financial services banking experience
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
  • Experience working with senior management teams

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of the annual budget and quarterly planning forecasts, engaging with the business to design and embed proposed strategies, challenging on assumptions where required. This will include articulating the plan to Board and Exco in the form of dynamic presentations that illustrate key business issues, insights and recommendations
  • Tracking actual performance vs plan, analysing deviations to identify root causes and presenting corrective or mitigating actions to the business
  • Financial appraisal of business wide pricing strategies including presenting recommendations at Pricing Committe.
  • Preparing and presenting monthly financial reports for the Bank’s senior management team and wider stakeholders, highlighting key trends, insights, risks and opportunities
  • Act as a strategic partner to the senior management team, providing recommendations and the ‘so what’ implications to potential future strategies
  • Working across the business to understand key developments in the market place and how they may impact the Bank’s roadmap for delivery and associated budget/forecast
  • Providing financial analysis and insights to support decision making on projects, investments and operational issues
  • Monitoring of external benchmarking for Hodge and reporting KPI’s for the ExCo & Board
  • Support finance and wider business deliverables as required

Processes, risk and control

  • Establish, maintain and review operating policies and job cards (systems of internal control) to ensure that they are sufficiently robust to adequately safeguard the Group’s assets and where weaknesses are identified ensure remedial action is taken in a timely manner
  • Be accountable for identifying, evaluating and managing all significant risk within areas of responsibility and where appropriate report on risk identified elsewhere in the Group.
  •  Develop and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of Compliance & Risk regulatory and legislative information related to Group products and services (e.g. PRA/FCA rules, Data Protection, Money Laundering, etc.), as advised by line management.
  •  Ensure company policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
  • Support the risk culture of the organisation by taking personal responsibility for identifying and managing risks in everything you do
