Under the overall management of the Lead or Senior Software Engineer, resolve live issues as part of the BAU team and develop new features through software development activity, contributing to the technical landscape of Hodge.  Engage with the wider IT and Change Teams to contribute to continual improvement of software delivery and development practices.

Key responsibilities will include:

  1. Understand core architectural patterns and frameworks used by Hodge.
  2. Understand and maintain all relevant documentation on project work undertaken.
  3. Engage with external suppliers to ensure system interfaces align with agreed principles and standards.
  4. Work with Test team to ensure agreed testing requirements are implemented.
  5. Review work and code of other team members.
  6. Investigate and develop data fixes to support BAU activity
  7. Development work to resolve live issues from Hodge applications
  8. Understand and follow key Software Development practices and processes

What we need from you:

  • Previous experience in commercial software development environment
  • Knowledge and experience using relational databases, Hibernate and Spring or similar frameworks
  • Experience developing using Java (v8+)
