Could it be fake? It’s okay to reject, refuse or ignore any requests. Only criminals will try to rush or panic you.
Contact your bank immediately if you think you’ve fallen for a scam or report it to Action Fraud, the UK’s national reporting centre for fraud or cybercrime.
The Take Five to Stop Fraud campaign is about bringing the dos and don’ts of financial fraud and scams to the front of mind. So that before we give away information or take any action when it comes to your finances, first we stop and consider whether the situation is genuine.
For example, if a company contacts them unexpectedly asking for secure information such as their PIN or makes them feel pressured into moving money to another account.
