We are seeking an experienced Underwriter with a focus on the customer to join our team. To be a role model to your colleagues who can clearly be seen to live and breathe our Hodge values in your day to day interactions with them (Trusted Expertise, Genuine Empathy and Bold Flexibility).

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out the required reconciliation work for the underwriting team to ensure that all deadlines and SLA’s are met.
  • You are someone who looks beyond the task that you are completing and considers how this impacts our customers.
  • You will work with your colleagues to understand technical queries on complaints and feedback on how to avoid these errors in the future.
  • Build a good working relationship with the Sales team and help to manage the broker’s expectations.
  • Mortgages development
  • Be the voice of the broker and customer by understanding the entire process to ensure any improvements cover all aspects required.
  • Share any improvement ideas with team members, seniors, coaches or team leader.

What we need from you:

  • Previous experience in an underwriting role
  • Strong coach and people developer
  • Experience of using our customer service systems and processes
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Attention to detail with excellent literacy and good numerical skills.
  • Able to follow procedures and work within regulated environment.
  • Excellent Office 365 skills and a good understanding of computerised administration and workflow systems.

At Hodge we operate a hybrid working policy where our colleagues work at least 40% of their time in the office, anyone on a remote contract we require to come into the office once a month.
