About Hodge

For over 50 years, we’ve shared the same simple mission: to really make a positive difference for our customers and communities. This ethos is in our DNA as we are 79% owned by a charity, the Hodge Foundation.

As Hodge continues to embark on its next chapter the Bank has already seen a large amount of growth both in terms of financial performance but importantly its colleagues. Our strategic vision is underpinned by our people and our investment in our colleagues. Our culture is what makes us special and ultimately what delivers our purpose to make a positive difference for our customers and communities.

Our aim is to open financial possibilities where options seem limited. Helping a family get a mortgage, saving for that dream or investing in or developing property. All of our customers get much more than just products: we give them simple solutions and support when they need it most.

The Role

To support the growing and changing needs of the business, we are investing in our data capabilities, and are therefore seeking a Senior DWH Developer to further enhance the Bank’s growing Business Intelligence function.

As a senior member of the team your primary focus will be to develop, maintain and evolve the group data warehouse through implementation of efficient ETL processes, and expert understanding of the group’s data structure and content whilst leading a team of DWH Consultants.

In this role, you will be expected to research new technologies to bolster the Data Strategy, maintain the existing estate, and lead the DWH team to success. You will also be required to translate business reporting requirements to design, build and deploy data warehouse and reporting solutions that meet internal customers’ needs, while embedding a continuous improvement culture to the development of our data capabilities.

This role plays a crucial part in delivering our BI strategy and as such we are looking for a candidate with proven experience as a BI/Data Warehouse Developer with in depth experience of the Microsoft BI Stack and strong familiarity with BI technologies.

What will your day look like?

Your key responsibilities as Senior Data Warehouse Developer will include:

  • Develop, maintain and evolve the bank’s data warehouse via new and existing technologies.
  • Support the delivery of the BI Data Strategy.
  • Support the Head of BI with leading the BI Team to Success.
  • Lead, Coach and Mentor a team of DWH Consultants.
  • Implementing ETL processes for the data warehouse.
  • Provide expertise in using and developing reporting data structures and outputs.
  • Understand the structure and content of the organisations data.
  • Translate business reporting requirements into technical specifications.
  • Design, build and deploy reporting solutions.
  • Conduct testing and troubleshooting.
  • Evaluate and improve existing BI systems.
  • Develop and update appropriate technical documentation.
  • Develop relationships with internal customers and be confident in working with stakeholders across the company.
  • Deliver first class customer service and promote the BI service.
  • Provide data analysis expertise and support on an ad-hoc basis.

If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you. Submit your CV, along with a few paragraphs explaining why you think you’re right for the role.
