This will be a key new role within the Customer Strategy and Marketing Team. Possessing excellent mortgage product knowledge and a commercially focused business mind-set, the role will be responsible for identifying initiatives which enhance, shape and support new and existing product development.

Reporting into the Head of Customer Strategy, this role will devise and manage a customer and market insight plan to monitor competitor activity and will also analyse market and customer trends to inform the mortgage customer product and proposition strategy.

Desirable experience: 

  • Experience of working in a  mortgage proposition/development role
  • Financial services experience
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of: MCOBs, FCA and PRA regulatory frameworks

Key responsibilities will include:

  1. Aid the development and delivery of the mortgage customer strategy. Identifying opportunities in collaboration with the Sales team to improve the mortgage proposition to key networks and intermediary partners.
  2. Assemble recommendations based on emerging trends, expansion opportunities, competitive threats, viability of outside business partners, and internal business process improvement.
  3. Design and create products and propositions, ensuring compliance with the Product Governance Framework.
  4. Own the risk management of all mortgage products in line within the Product Governance Framework which oversees the launch of new products as well as management of the full product lifecycle. Including mortgage conduct MI
  5. Provide analysis to support the team in the production of the business change by understanding the opportunity/market using robust tools/methodologies to assess growth opportunities and recommend direction.
  6. Maintain in-depth knowledge of competitor activity, highlighting trends and making predictions, which can then be used where necessary to highlight possible issues or opportunities including rate changes.
  7. Provide mortgage customer product and proposition technical support and market insight to the business, including acting as a consultant on Mortgage projects, participating in workshops and contributing to project teams as required.
  8. Ownership of all product communications, including but not limited to T&Cs, Fair Value Assessment templates etc
  9. Develop and maintain personal technical and regulatory knowledge to ensure there is capability to support the manufacturing and maintenance of products.
  10. Support the post launch review and establish on-going monitoring working with the business.
  11. Ability to deliver high quality work whilst working in a fast moving, sometimes pressured environment.
  12. Develop and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of Compliance & Risk regulatory and legislative information related to Group products and services (e.g. PRA/FCA rules, Data Protection, Money Laundering, etc.), as advised by line management.
