Head of Procurement

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager looking to progress or a Head of Procurement seeking a new role within a reputable business.

The focus of the role is to take responsibility of all categories spend and the procurement process across the Group, developing and implementing a procurement strategy and working with other departments in ensuring services and goods are procured in line with the Procurement policy. The Head of Procurement will be responsible for any significant relationships on behalf of the organisation and ensure sufficient monitoring of key suppliers is in place and regularly reviewed.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop the procurement strategy across the Group and work with colleagues to ensure it meets the long-term needs of the Group.
  • Review all key procurement actions, considering learning points to be shared with Colleagues.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to identify spend categories and projects and support in a strategic procurement review.
  • Undertake supplier and spend analysis.
  • Undertake supplier risk analysis and monitoring to ensure supplier relationships are working within agreed contract.
  • Keep abreast of changes in procurement, best practice and legislative compliance.
  • To support negotiations with preferred parties where contracts are significant.
  • Support performance and contract management where contracts are significant.
  • Ensure all contracts are centrally managed and monitored.
  • Review and negotiate contracts.
  • Conduct Due Diligence for material outsourced services
  • Own and run “cradle to grave” process of a projects: building specifications, developing tenders, running tenders, negotiating with suppliers and reviewing agreeing contracts,
  • Provide advice and support to colleagues on contract management and procurement best practice, identifying training needs and recommending or providing training/coaching for colleagues where appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain good knowledge of all company policies and procedures and legislative/regulatory requirements, including but not limited to Conduct Rules, Data Protection, Money Laundering, etc.

What we need from you:

  • Procurement qualification or equivalent.
  • Relevant procurement experience within a financial services or similar environment
  • Sound procurement knowledge
  • Good project management skills
  • Strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Understanding and awareness of regulatory environment
  • Excellent IT skills
