Hodge is excited to offer a Trainee Management Accountant role within our Finance team. This role is designed to provide invaluable experience and knowledge in all aspects of management accounts and Treasury back office processes. As a member of this team, you will be working closely with experienced professionals who are passionate about sharing their expertise and fostering professional growth.

Hodge will support the right candidate to advance their studies towards obtaining the ACCA qualification or an equivalent certification.

Responsibilities:

  •  Support month end close activities, including posting journals and updating non Finance data in the management accounts.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations with appropriate support for the balance, working with the business to resolve open items.
  • Responsible for the daily finance activities, supporting the general ledger process.
  • Responsible for Treasury back office processes, ensuring accuracy of data in systems and information provided internally and to 3rd party.
  • Support the Financial Reporting Manager with external audit requests.
  • Establish, maintain and review job cards (systems of internal control) to ensure that they are sufficiently robust to adequately safeguard the Group’s assets and where weaknesses are identifying ensure remedial action is taken in a timely manner.
  • Understand the output of the department, putting in place controls and reconciliations to ensure accounting discrepancies are identified and take ownership of issues through to a satisfactory conclusion.
  • Undertake any other reasonable tasks as and when requested by the Management Accounting Manager or Financial Controller.
  • Study towards the ACCA qualification or equivalent in line with the terms set out within the training contract (if applicable).

  • Mathematics (grade A-C) at GCSE level or equivalent
  • Sound accounting and financial acumen
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to deliver against set deadlines

  • Understanding and awareness of the economic environment
