Test Engineer

We are looking for someone with experience in automation and manual testing who can undertake testing of enhancement and new features on a single delivery team and contribute to the technical landscape of Hodge.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the Group’s products and processes, to ensure that testing work is aligned to the needs of the business.
  • With the assistance of the Test & QA Lead and wider team, develop a thorough understanding of the infrastructure and application design of the systems landscape.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of test planning documentation to provide clarity & confidence and use these plans to drive conversations and break down silos.
  • Plan & execute manual functional, non-functional, and regression testing to satisfy the business and technical requirements of Epics, Features and User Stories
  • Recording and reporting of test results, generating issue reports and feeding back bugs via agreed and appropriate mechanisms.
  • Contribute to the implementation of appropriate automated testing tools for systems internal and third-party systems used across the Group.
  • Develop and maintain automated testing scripts as required to satisfy business and technical requirements.
  • Liaise with the business to ensure each new module is tested adequately, and that testing issues are resolved in a timely and effective way.

What we need from you:

  • Relevant IT or Computer Science degree or equivalent
  • A good grounding in Information Technology, with awareness and some exposure to a specific language (e.g Java or C#)
  • Good knowledge of automated testing tools
  • Manual system testing experience (writing, performing and reporting).
  • Attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
