About Hodge

For over 50 years, we’ve shared the same simple mission: to really make a positive difference for our customers and communities. This ethos is in our DNA as we are 79% owned by a charity, the Hodge Foundation.

Our purpose is to open financial possibilities where options seem limited. Helping a family get a mortgage, saving for that dream or investing in or developing property. All of our customers get much more than just products: we give them simple solutions and support when they need it most.

The role

We are looking for an experienced Real Estate Relationship Manager for our Portfolio Team to closely support the Head of Portfolio and  Managing Director, Commercial Lending  in delivery of the Commercial Lending  business plan.

Support the delivery of the CL business plan across the spectrum of client satisfaction, business development, income generation, brand profile and reputation, risk management, conduct, compliance and staff development.

What will your day look like?

Your key responsibilities as a Relationship Manager will be to:

  1. Manage and develop a portfolio of loans, which may include the acquisition of new clients, negotiating appropriately structured facilities in line with Hodge risk appetite.
  2. Delivering a first class customer experience to our existing client relationships.
  3. Preparation and presentation to the relevant sanctioning authority of high-quality credit papers consistent with credit risk policy.
  4. Execution of sanctioned deal structures, scoping and managing appropriate professional advisory work, along with evaluation and feedback to sanctioning authorities.
  5. Ensure that all facilities are operating in accordance with agreed terms, providing appropriate proposals for remedy and/or negotiating restructured facilities with clients.
  6. Regularly review and accurately assess risk rating characteristics of each exposure within your allocated portfolio.
  7. Execution of sanctioned deal structures, scoping and managing appropriate professional advisory work, along with evaluation and feedback to sanctioning authorities.
  8. Ensuring that loans are repaid when due and security items are released.
