This will be a key new role within the Projects department, tasked with leading and delivering. You will oversee day-to-day project operations. Your primary responsibility will be bridging the gap between the project and the business area, ensuring transparent communication and effective translation of requirements.

You will collaborate with various departments including Business Readiness, Service Transition, Risk, and Compliance to ensure projects are accepted by the business and expected benefits are realised.

Essential experience: 

  • Extensive experience in managing projects of varying size and scale related to Technology, Finance or Data
  • Ability to demonstrate an in depth understanding of project methodologies and project tools
  • A project management qualification or equivalent experience

Key responsibilities will include:

  1. Planning and monitoring the project, managing the production of the required deliverables
  2. Adopting any delegation and use of project assurance roles within agreed reporting structures
  3. Budget tracking
  4. Managing project risks, including the development of contingency plans
  5. Liaison with programme management (if the project is part of a programme) and related projects to ensure that work is neither overlooked nor duplicated necessary
  6. Monitoring overall progress and use of resources, initiating corrective action where necessary
  7. Applying change control and configuration management processes
  8. Reporting through agreed lines on project progress through status reports and gate reviews
  9. Liaison with appointed project assurance representatives to assure the overall direction and integrity of the project
  10. Maintaining an awareness of potential interdependencies with other projects and their impact
  11. Adopting and applying appropriate technical and quality strategies and standards
  12. Identifying and obtaining support and advice required for the management, planning and control of the project
  13. Managing project administration
  14. Conducting a project evaluation review to assess how well the project was managed and preparing any follow-on action recommendations
  15. Liaising with and managing third party suppliers where required, including tracking progress against agreed deliverables and advising project steering group and procurement of any potential commercial issues

General

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures and legislative and regulatory requirements, including, but not exhaustively, those related to GDPR, Money Laundering, Health & Safety, PRA/FCA regulations, employment and other legislative requirements (as applicable).
  • Undertake any other reasonable tasks as and when requested by senior management.
  • Develop and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of Compliance & Risk regulatory and legislative information related to products/services (e.g. PRA/FCA rules, Data Protection, Money Laundering, etc.), as advised by line management.
  • Support the risk culture of the organisation by taking personal responsibility for identifying and managing risks.
