Under the overall management of the Test and QA Lead, undertake testing of enhancement and new features on a single delivery team and contribute to the technical landscape of Hodge.  Engage with the wider IT and Change Teams to contribute to continual improvement of software testing and QA practices.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the Group’s products and processes, to ensure that testing work is aligned to the needs of the business.
  2. Gain an understanding of the infrastructure and application design of the systems landscape.
  3. Support the design and creation of test cases.
  4. Understand core architectural patterns and frameworks used by Hodge.
  5. Feed into test planning and estimation activities and use the exposure to build experience-based estimation.
  6. Ensure the business requirements match the delivered solution and challenge if they do not.
  7. Support the execution of manual functional, non-functional, and regression testing to satisfy the business and technical requirements of Epics, Features and User Stories.
  8. Produce high quality test output e.g. Bugs, Reports.
  9. Proactively seek development opportunities within the test team and externally e.g. ISTQB, Java Courses.
  10. Participate in Agile ceremonies to improve change and Quality Assurance practices.

Essential 

  • Experience in testing, estimation and an understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle
  • Technical aptitude and drive to learn testing skills and techniques
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills
