We have an opportunity in our rapidly expanding Finance Division, your focus will be to assist the Regulatory Reporting Manager with regulatory reporting within the organisation, ensuring that information is completed accurately and on a timely basis for the review of senior managers, Board members and external regulators. You will assist with the successful implementation of new regulatory standards and work closely with each area of the business to ensure Hodge’s Pillar III, ICAAP and Recovery Plan documentation is robust.

What will your day look like?

Your key responsibilities as Financial Reporting Assistant will include:

  • Assist with maintaining the Bank’s COREP & FINREP manuals and regulatory interpretation documents are kept up to date for any changes in the business or regulation as required and approved on an annual basis.
  • Undertake relevant project work when required (e.g. System changes, automation of reports from Data Warehouse etc.).
  • Assisting with the assessment of new products from a regulatory viewpoint.
  • Assist with addressing any queries or points raised by internal audit.
  • Assist with creating a culture of continuous improvement culture within the Regulatory reporting team and the wider Finance function.
  • Provide advice and support to colleagues on queries of a more complex or technical nature.
  • Establish, maintain and review operational policies and job cards (systems of internal control) to ensure that they are sufficiently robust to adequately safeguard the Bank’s assets and where weaknesses are identified ensure remedial action is taken in a timely manner.
  • Be accountable for Identifying, evaluating, and managing all significant risks and where appropriate report on risk identified elsewhere in the Bank.

Are you the one for us?

  • Experience within a Trainee Accountant role – ACA/ACCA or equivalent is desirable but not essential
  • Sound financial acumen
  • Meticulous, analytical and detail focused
  • Excellent organisational, time management and project management skills
  • Proactive and self motivated
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Excellent IT skills
