The Deputy Financial Controller will ensure the accurate and timely production of financial and management information to the Board and senior managers to support the achievement of the business plan and strategic objectives. Assist in developing a coherent business plan and strategy for adoption by the Board. Ensure year end statutory accounts and regulatory information is produced accurately; working to set deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Financial Controller in the management of the finance department.
  • Responsible for writing Board and ExCo Committee Papers covering all finance topics under remit.
  • Assisting in the review of the management accounts and provide commentary to CFO.
  • Assisting the business on ad-hoc Finance areas. For example; EIR, diversification opportunity)
  • Supporting the Financial Reporting Manager produce the yearend Financial statements.
  • Oversee the production and submission of the Annual Financial Statements of the Group.
  • Review the submission of the Research & Development claims.
  • Review the Tax computation packs before submission to professional advisers, to ensure corporation tax returns are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Oversee the production of timely and accurate financial information, including detailed commentary.
  • Support the Management Accounting Manager to ensure all reconciliations are reviewed in a timely manner.

What we need from you?

  • Previous Financial Controller experience
  • Qualified Accountant – ACA/ACCA or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience of IFRS
  • Relevant experience within a financial services environment
