Data Protection Officer

We are seeking a Data Protection Officer (DPO) with extensive knowledge of GDPR compliance and regulation within financial services in the UK who will be responsible for ensuring our organisation adheres to applicable UK regulations.

The role holder will be responsible for a full range of activities, including – advisory, policies & procedures, horizon scanning (new regulatory requirements) and projects which include customer data.

This role reports directly to the Head of Compliance and is positioned in the organisations second line of defence Risk & Compliance team.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the Data Protection Officer for Hodge
  • Development of a robust GDPR Compliance Assurance Plan
  • Reviewing, updating and embedding existing policies and procedures to ensure the organisation is in line with relevant regulations.
  • Regular reporting, including monitoring of key metrics, to be taken through the organisation’s governance structure.
  • Providing advice to the business on GDPR matters.
  • On-going self development.

Candidates must have knowledge of GDPR principles and internal controls preferably within the banking industry alongside more general understanding and the ability to interpret and advise the business on data requirements.

The ability to produce and present high-quality focused material for Executive and Board level committees and to senior management is essential, along with strong communication and effective negotiation skills.

To be successful in this role you will effectively build and maintain collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels across the business and have the ability to challenge business stakeholders objectively.
