This position will support the Financial Controller to ensure the accurate and timely production of financial and management information to the JHB Board and senior management.

The role includes responsibility for accurately reporting the financial month end performance to budget and forecast, maintenance of the forecasting planning tool and identifying opportunities for process improvements across the Finance function and the wider business.

Essential Experience:

  • Qualified Accountant – ACA/ACCA or equivalent qualification.
  • Significant experience in analytical or Reporting role.

Key responsibilities will include:

  1. Support the Financial Controller to maintain financial operations. Work closely with the wider Finance reporting team to deliver its objectives.
  2. Identifying opportunities for development and process improvements, considering the impact on the wider Finance function and the business.
  3. Responsible for writing Board and Executive Committee Papers.
  4. Assisting the wider business, providing ad-hoc Finance guidance. For example; Effective Interest Rate (EIR), diversification opportunity.
  5. Take ownership and work with team to address internal audit actions/queries.
  6. Support and oversight of TCT and non JHB subsidiaries.
  7. Ad-hoc project work relating to the Group.
  8. Lead the simplification of current manual processes.
  9. Oversee the production of timely and accurate monthly financial information, including detailed commentary to explain variances to Budget, Forecast and KPIs.
  10. Support the Finance Manager – Management Accounting to coach the reporting team to investigate and resolve queries.
  11. Develop the monthly financial information to improve analysis, commentary and KPIs.
  12. Present the monthly financial information pack to the CFO and the senior Finance team.
  13. Support the Finance Manager – Management Accounting to ensure all reconciliations are reviewed within agreed timelines
  14. Responsible for the ongoing maintenance and administration of the IBM forecast planning tool including:
  • Review of back book loads
  • Updating non-Business partner assumptions
  • Review of control reports and sense checking out puts
  • Support development of report building
  • Support in design and testing of new logic
