Application Support Engineer

We have a new opportunity in our Information Services departing reporting to the Service Management & Improvement Lead, This exciting role will be responsible for identifying opportunities throughout the business where technology would make a positive impact, and then partnering with multiple business areas to ensure those benefits are realised.

Are you the one for us?

  • At least 12 months experience of working in Service Desk or Service Delivery role
  • Experience of supporting IT Applications
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies
  • Experience of working with non-technical colleagues on projects

 

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Business partnering the areas to establish relationships and act as a “Trusted Advisor”
  • Identify business and technology opportunities, developing solution concepts and business cases for new technological investments
  • Identify and record potential problems through trend analysis and monitoring, taking preventative action where possible
  • Take ownership of existing problems and manage them through to root cause fix.
  • Manage small / medium sized projects independently and contribute to larger projects and change initiatives
  • Mentor and train other members in Service Delivery where possible
  • Act as third line support for the key internal business applications
  • Embed Continuous Improvement practices into all elements of work undertaken and encourage contributions from others across Service Delivery teams.
  • Pro-actively look for opportunities to improve processes through improved process steps, knowledge sharing and automation of tasks and reporting.

You will have:

  • Previous experience in financial services sector
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies provision and server management
  • Knowledge and experience Service Transition processes
  • Knowledge of best practice and supporting tools for Service Desk and Continuous Service Improvement
