Reporting to the managing director of retail, with a dotted line into our commercial lending business this role is accountable for and has overall responsibility for the Marketing function at Hodge. As the most senior marketer in the business, the role is responsible for building and shaping the strategic marketing position for Hodge. Accountable for all aspects of marketing communications, brand strategy & advertising.

This role falls under SM&CR and is a Material Risk Taker position.

Essential Experience:

  • Experience in a similar role
  • Relevant marketing qualifications e.g. CIM, IDM
  • Experience of operating and influencing at a senior/executive level
  • Leadership and management experience of marketing function
  • Experience of delivering change in an enterprise environment
  • Operated in a regulatory environment
  • Excellent understanding of direct and B2B marketing concepts, channels and best practices

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and develop a high performing marketing team spanning all marketing disciplines, with clear direction in line with overall business strategy
  • Define and own the development and delivery of overarching marketing strategy and tactics which will deliver commercial, customer and brand goals to meet our growth agenda
  • Put the customer at the heart of the marketing planning, integrating data, insights, research and market analysis to enhance the customer and prospect experience
  • Ensure a robust marketing strategy and communications plans are in place across multiple business units for B2B and B2B2C audiences
  • Embed the brand purpose and promise, bringing it to life to inspire positive outcomes and shift brand metrics
  • Set and control the marketing budget ensuring spend comes in on budget and to agreed measures
  • Lead innovation within marketing by building a structured test & learn program trailing new channels/media reviewing regularly
  • Develop and execute a marketing CRM strategy to engage, acquire and retain customers through intelligent, timely and personalised online and offline communication
  • Embed a culture of data-led decision making. Champion data integrity and development of data analytics and decision-making capability for marketing
  • Effectively source, select and manage marketing agency relationships to drive business performance
  • Maximise efficiencies in a constantly changing environment, providing creative solutions to shifting priorities whilst increasing value from marketing by driving marketing effectiveness
  • Develop and maintain good knowledge of all company policies and procedures and wider legislative/regulatory requirements, as advised by line management and within the Group
  • Compliance Manual. Including but not exhaustively; Conduct Rules, Data Protection, Money Laundering, etc.
  • Develop and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of Compliance & Risk regulatory and legislative information related to Group products and services (e.g. PRA/FCA rules, Data Protection, Money Laundering, etc.), as advised by line management
  • Support the risk culture of the organisation by taking personal responsibility for identifying and managing risks in everything you do
    Undertake any other reasonable tasks as requested by management.

General:

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures and legislative and regulatory requirements, including, but not exhaustively, those related to GDPR, Money Laundering, Health & Safety, PRA/FCA regulations, employment and other legislative requirements (as applicable).
  • Undertake any other reasonable tasks as and when requested by senior management.
  • Develop and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of Compliance & Risk regulatory and legislative information related to products/services (e.g. PRA/FCA rules, Data Protection, Money Laundering, etc.), as advised by line management.
  • Support the risk culture of the organisation by taking personal responsibility for identifying and managing risks.
