In recent years, everyone at Hodge would get a little surprise from the Easter Bunny in the form of a chocolate egg on their desk at this time of year. Fast forward a few years, and we’ve changed things up a little.
It was difficult to get Easter eggs out to all our colleagues during the pandemic, so we decided to donate them to charities throughout the local community instead. We asked our teams to nominate charities close to their hearts, and selected five worthy organisations in the South Wales area. Our Social Committee then took on the task of delivering 500 eggs for them to enjoy!
Social Committee members Lewis Dite and John Cook took time on Friday to take over 90 eggs to Ty Hafan Children’s Hospice. Speaking to Lucy Kettlety, the Fundraising Coordinator at Ty Hafan, she expressed how grateful the children are, especially because there’s an upcoming family day where siblings and family members would be joining the children over the Easter period.
Easter eggs were also dropped off at Hope GB, Cerebral Palsy Cymru, Y Bont and Caerphilly Children’s Centre. Paul from Hodge nominated Y Bont, saying “Y Bont is a charity which means a great deal to my family and I couldn’t think of a group of people more deserving of an Easter treat than those supported by it”.
