With nearly 400 registrants and over 200 tuning in, to say the topics of conversation around the holiday let market piqued interest would be an understatement.

The webinar, covering Stamp duty savings, tax benefits and how a booming UK staycation market is boosting the holiday let industry right now went down a storm, with one watcher  even commenting that it was, in their opinion ‘totally relevant content and the best of 2020’.

The success of the broadcast was in no small part down to the featured speakers. After an informative start to the webinar, where Brad and James covered everything from current market demand to case studies brought to life through featuring a brokers perspective, the reins were handed over to our first set of guests.

Mark & Joe Stallard of House and Holiday Home Mortgages, a pair successfully involved in the Holiday Let mortgage market for many years brought an interesting element to the proceedings. Their experience and professionalism in dealing with clients, lenders, letting agents and understanding property types and key locations suitable for holiday let purposes was extremely insightful and the reason why we approached them to be part of our Holiday Let Webinar.

They were followed by an engaging talk from John Endacott, Partner and Head of Tax at PKF – Francis Clark, as a tax specialist John is extremely well versed in a number of key areas including holiday let tax rules. He’s also an author and has recently published a book specifically about furnished holiday lets. It was so important to us to have John join us for our Webinar, his expertise and reputation in this specialist area of taxation helped educate on specific tax rules and requirements linked to the holiday let market.

A lively Q&A session ended the piece with 74% of those polled stating that they found the webinar extremely informative with some fantastic additional feedback received since.
