Hodge can potentially consider an application where there has been a history of arrears on a credit card or any form of revolving credit. Hodge will consider a maximum of 2 months arrears in the last 2 years and the account must be up to date at the time of application.

Defaults - Unsatisfied

Will we consider an application from an applicant who has any unsatisfied defaults?

Hodge can potentially consider an application from an applicant who has an unsatisfied default. For mail orders, communications, or utilities debts only, we can consider no more than two satisfied defaults less than £250 in the last two years, and no more than one unsatisfied default with a balance of £100 or less in the last two years. Defaults for any amount more than two years ago are accepted whether satisfied or unsatisfied. Refer details to our Lending Support team on 0800 138 9109.

Utility Bills Missed or Late Payments

Hodge can potentially consider an application where there has been a history of missed or late payments or arrears on utility bills. The account must be up to date at application. Arrears balances under £250 can be accepted. For balances of £250 or more, a maximum of two months arrears in the last two years will apply.

Hodge can potentially consider applications from an applicant who has had missed or late payments on a Credit Agreement. All accounts must be up to date at application. Hodge can consider a maximum of two month’s arrears in the last two years. Unsecured loans must have been up to date for the three months prior to application. Mortgages and Secured Loans - A maximum of one month’s arrears in the last year, and a maximum of two month’s arrears in last three years. The account must be up to date at time of application and have been up to date in the six months prior to application. Applicants with existing mortgage arrears are not accepted. Mail Orders and Communications - Hodge has no restrictions on historic arrears but the account must be up to date at application. Utilities - The account must be up to date at application. Arrears balances under £250 can be accepted. For balances of £250 or more, a maximum of two months arrears in the last two years will apply

Hodge can potentially consider an application where there has been a history of arrears on an unsecured loan. All accounts must be up to date at application. Hodge can consider a maximum of two month’s arrears in the last two years. Unsecured loans must have been up to date for the three months prior to application.

Mobile Phone Arrears or Defaults

Will we consider an application from an applicant who has had any Arrears or Defaults with a Mobile Phone or Communications?

Hodge can consider historic arrears on mobile phone or communications accounts, but the account must be up to date at application. Hodge can consider no more than two satisfied defaults less than £250 in the last two years, and no more than one unsatisfied default with a balance of £100 or less in the last two years. Defaults for any amount more than two years ago are accepted whether satisfied or unsatisfied.

Hodge can consider applications where the applicant has historically had an Individual Voluntary Arrangement but has been discharged for at least six years.

Individual Voluntary Arrangement - Discharged less than 3 years

Will we consider an application where the applicant has historically had an Individual Voluntary Arrangement but which was discharged less than 3 years ago? If so, what is the policy on this?

Hodge do not consider applications where the applicant has historically had an Individual Voluntary Arrangement but which was discharged less than 3 years ago. We can only accept if discharged for at least 6 years.

Individual Voluntary Arrangement - Ongoing / Current

Will we consider an application where the applicant is currently in an Individual Voluntary Arrangement? If so, what is the policy on this?

Hodge do not consider an application where the applicant is currently in an Individual Voluntary Arrangement. They are only acceptable if discharged for at least 6 years.

Debt Relief Order - Discharged between 3 and 6 years

Will we consider an application where the applicant has historically had a Debt Relief Order, but which was discharged between 3 and 6 years ago? If so, what is the policy on this?

Hodge do not consider applications where the applicant has historically had a debt relief order but was discharged between 3 and 6 years ago. Hodge can potentially consider applications where discharged for at least 6 years.
